Moab Support Forum > Moab profiles no longer allow me to print

I have the latest version of Mac OS Big Sur installed, as well as the latest version of Photoshop. Printing with Moab profiles (particularly Lasal Exhibition Luster) was not a problem on my Epson SureColor 900 until recently...until after either a Photoshop update or Mac OS update. Although I can select and print from, say, Epson paper profiles (PSD RGB files). I can't from any Moab profiles. The printer starts making some startup print setup noises and that's it. Occasionally it will allow a sheet of paper to go through the printer without printing anything on it.

More clues: trashing and reinstalling Photoshop and the appropriate ICC profiles for my printer did not fix anything. Also, if I've selected any of the Moab paper profiles, I cannot select "Print settings..." The popup printing dialog window does not appear. If I choose non-Moab profiles (such as Epson's), it does, and I can print.

I have watched the installation video, and read the installation text. As far as I can tell, I'm not doing anything "wrong".

So, how do I print on my beautiful Lasal paper with the proper profile?

This is unfortunately an issue with the most recent Adobe and Big Sur updates, and at this point there are two things to try:

1- download and reinstall the printer driver.

2- If the driver reinstall doesn't work, the other 'solution' is to update to MacOS Monterey, which has so far been reported as trouble-free for printing. However, as this is an OS update, check for other unintended consequences before installing.

This issue has been widely reported by customers, for now no solutions have been posted by Adobe or Apple.

Downloading and reinstalling the Epson printer driver for the P900 did not fix the problem. I did some online reading, and am wondering if moving the Moab ICC profiles from their current location to the User ColorSync Profiles folder might be an option.

Upgrading my Mac OS from Big Sur to Monterey would force me to buy a new $$$ version of QuarkXPress.

Since Epson ICC paper profiles work, is there any Epson paper profile that is very close to the Moab Lasal Luster? Not the ideal fix, of course.

There is no harm in trying to move your ICC profiles between the two library folders, this may make a difference. If that doesn't help, make a test print using the Epson Premium Luster profile and media setting, or you could also test Epson Premium Semigloss.
