Moab Support Forum > Problem with Entrada Rag Textured 300

I just started using this paper and I like it a lot, appearance-wise. BUT, I'm having little white spots show up some time after printing. The first time I thought maybe I had mishandled the print, so tried it again and was very careful with it. After it dried for 24 hours, I was just going to spray it with Moab Desert Varnish when I noticed another white spot, in a different place. It looks like the color is just flaking away, and the print isn't usable. I'm printing with the Canon PIXMA-Pro 10 and don't have this problem with any other papers.

Well, I'll at least partially answer my own question. I got to thinking about the early years of inkjet printing when there was the common advice to always brush your fine art paper before printing. Somewhere along the way I forgot about this and never had any problems until just now. Either I got a bad batch of paper, or this advice is still relevant, at least for the Entrada Textured. I have also been using Entrada Bright and haven't had any problems with it.

Dick,
You are correct, it is a good practice to brush rag papers before printing just in case. Generally our boxes are as dust-free as possible, but sometimes paper fibers get in with the sheets during the converting & packaging process.
