Moab Support Forum > Printing from InDesign

I have a project that must be printed from InDesign. I'm printing on MOAB Entrada Rag Bright. I've downloaded and installed the appropriate ICC. Colors print correctly from PhotoShop but not from InDesign. Creative Cloud applications are synchronized. Can you tell me where or what I need to adjust in InDesign to obtain correct color output?

InDesign is a bit of a challenge when printing to a photo printer, as it was designed for CMYK press and they never added a good RGB workflow.

First, make sure your document starts as RGB, and your images are in an RGB color space as well. This eliminates a CMYK color conversion which can be problematic.

When printing, select 'InDesign determines colors' and your paper ICC profile. There is no option for rendering intent, InDesign will only use the default rendering intent specified in the profile data. Then, in Printer Settings, select the corresponding media setting for the profile, and make sure to set the printer to 'no color adjustment' or 'no color correction'. This should get you very close- make a test print and see how it turns out.

Alternately, you can save the document as a postscript file and open the postscript files in Photoshop to print. There are a few steps in conversion, but it will allow you full PS print control vs ID.
