Moab Support Forum > Entrada Rag Natural Profile M3 Measurement?

Can you please tell me why your profile for Entrada Rag Natural was created on an Epson 9500 with an M3 measurement (polarizing filter). I don't see any reason for this - especially since the RGB channels are very bumpy in the lows.

Many thanks in advance for your effort.

Gerd,
We began using M3 data for our matte papers this year as it yields the most neutral gray, and greatly improves shadow detail, most noticeably on Epson printers.

With Epson inks, in the 2D graph the blue channel data does start to level out between about L*14 and L*4. This is not seen with Canon inks, and is not visible in sample prints. You shouldn't be seeing any other 'bumpy' data, the 3D rendering of all profiles is smooth and without voids.

Thank you for your reply.

I could not find this with my own M3 measurements now so on other papers, but I also use with the i1iO 3 Plus "no" X-Rite software to measure and profile and my results are more linear.

I have ordered your Entrada Rag Natural Duo now because I think it is a very good paper. I will also test it with your M3 profile.

Thanks again for your effort.

Greetings Gerd
