Moab Support Forum > Matte 235 tonal differences...

Hello, I purchased a box of 13x19 Lasal Photo Matte 235 based on the print results from using the 8.5x11 version of the same paper. I am printing B&W images and are noticing a tonal difference between the two papers, with the result of the smaller print preferred. I am using a Canon Pro-100 printer and I did select the Moab Matte profile. Is this to be expected. Thanks!

Adam,
All sizes of Photo Matte (and all our other papers) are cut from the same 'master rolls', so the media is identical regardless of the size. I'm wondering if what you're seeing is a result of the change in physical size, allowing for larger gradients and transitions. A 13x19 is about 3x the size of an 8x10, so if a shadow gradient is 1" on the small print, it would be about 3" on the larger print.
