Moab Support Forum > Lasal Exhibition Luster "slipping" in Epson SureColor P800

We've used various Moab papers for years in a variety of Epson printers, with very good results. However, this week we purchased a large quantity of Lasal Exhibition Luster 300 and we're experiencing a very frustrating problem. On our Epson SureColor P800, the sheets "slip" as they reach the last inch of the paper, causing the printing to skew in that area, and in many cases knocking the edge of the sheet with the print head and making an unholy inky mess. We've tried the following:

-Gently rolling the edges of the sheets to ensure they are flat (this has no effect.)

-Change the paper thickness setting up and down in the advanced media controls (this has no effect.)

-Print smaller images and trim down the sheets (this works, but only if they are MUCH smaller images, which is obviously a none-starter, since we aren't going to buy sheets that are twice as big as our intended print size.)

Our rollers are clean and our paper media settings are correct on both the printer and the software.

Any input on this would be greatly appreciated.

For reference if anybody is struggling with a similar issue, our current workaround is stacking up printer paper on the outfeed tray to EXACTLY the height that the print come out at, so that it is supported better. This works most of the time, but it's tedious, since it means you can only do one print at a time : /

Austin,
Sorry for the inconvenience, it sounds like one (or more) corners of the sheet has a slight curl to it. This causes the print head to catch the edge near the end of the print, shifting the paper, ghosting the last few passes of the image, and leaving a smudge at the edge of the paper (just as you're experiencing). If you place one sheet face-up on a flat surface, is it apparent how many corners are turned up? If it is only one, try feeding the sheets with the raised corner on the leading edge, and it should resolve the issue. If it is multiple corners, you can back-roll the corner(s) to flatten them out. Though we do our best, corner curl sometimes happens with cut sheets.
