Moab Support Forum > Media type for Canon Pro-100
To print borderless on the PRO-100 and PRO-10, you have to select Matte Photo Paper instead of Other Fine Art. Colors will be nearly identical using the ICC profile, you may notice a small difference in density in the dark shadows.
Using the Canon PIXMA 2520 is a great thing, to print a photo via it on 8.5×11 glossy paper gives users wonderful experienced. But, sometimes the users face the issue in the printer and received the error 4102 message. Well, the Canon Printer Error Code 4102 occurs when the media type and paper size are not set correctly.
In trying to set up to print to my Canon Pro-100 using the Moab ICC Profile (MOAB+Artist+Card+PRO-100+MPP), I keep getting the error message that 'media type and paper size are not set correctly'. I'm using Artist Cards (4.5x5.8), have set the paper size to Custom (5.81x9), and Matte Photo Paper - which is, I think, the guidance from other posts on this site. Anyway, I can't get past the error message and wonder what I need to do. Thanks in advance...
Note: the reference error message appears in the Print Settings dialog box in the Printer Setup segment of the Photoshop Print Settings, i.e., I think it's Canon that's generating the error, not Photoshop.
I tested the small cards on our Pro-100, and using the rear tray with the matte photo paper setting the card prints correctly. Double-check your custom paper size to make sure the width is set to 5.8 (width will always be the shorter dimension).
Thank you for your response. It turns out I was overlooking - in the Canon Print Settings dialog - the 'Presets' section. After carefully dealing with 'Layout', 'Quality & Media', etc., I had totally failed to check the 'Presets', which were set to default. As soon as I properly set up a 'Custom Preset' for the Moab paper, everything worked.
Thank you.
P.S. I'm delighted with the paper - the Moab Artist Cards.
I'm using Entrada Rag bright 300 (13x19) paper and see the ICC profile says to select 'Other fine art paper 1' for the media type of the print dialog. I'm trying to print borderless via Photoshop and want to control the margins. When I make that selection the 'Fine art papers' menu options that house the recommended media type is no longer available for selection (it's grayed out). What media type do I use then? Photoshop is defaulting to 'Photo Paper Pro Platinum N'. Thanks for the assistance.
