"All my portfolios are printed on Entrada. It's necessary that each print stands alone as a piece of art, and it's because of Entrada's weight and feel that my portfolio stands out from the rest."
When working with built-in (Canon) media settings, we leave the calibration setting at 'Printer Default'. This should reference the most recent 'common calibration' that was performed on the printer. If you're using a custom media file which allows for a unique calibration, Printer Default will correctly select between the custom calibration or the common calibration depending on what media is loaded in the printer.
We are working to update and post custom media files for all Moab papers on the Pro-2000/4000/6000, and plan to have them available later this spring. These will give you the ability to perform a unique calibration for the specific paper, increasing color accuracy.

Thanks, folks, for getting that correction from Canon. I'll follow up with my support contact to pass on that news. Thanks also for noting that Printer Default will use a unique calibration if it exists for the media loaded in the printer. That's how I originally expected things to work, so I'm glad that's how they're supposed to work. Finally, I'm glad to hear that you'll be doing custom media types for Moab papers and believe that will allow incremental improvements.

Folks: I'm ramping up on my new PRO-4000 and principally use Entrada Natural 300. I'm using the Moab profile and getting reasonable results, but want to confirm a specific setting that I employ. It is on the Paper Detailed Settings page for the MacOS (El Capitan) Canon driver, specifically the Calibration Value field. I'm using the setting Use Value, as recommended by Canon support, instead of the default setting Printer Default. Canon support says that default setting causes the printer to ignore any calibrations that were done after the printer left the factory, including the one that is normally done on printer installation. That setting makes sense to me, but I'd like to confirm that Moab used the same setting when doing the profile for Entrada on this printer family.
