I've previously printed on my Canon Pro-1000 on the Juniper Baryta Rag 305 in 8.5 x 11, 11 x 14 and 17 x 22 sizes all without issue but I am consistently getting head strikes when printing on 13 x 19 from a new box I just bought yesterday. The paper is very flat out of the box and I can see no reason why I would get head strikes on this box of paper unless the paper thickness is changed. The headstrikes are in the first 1.5 - 1.75 inches of the paper and then no more. I'm going to try changing the head height of the pro platinum from low to standard and see if that will result in a clean print.

It has been awhile since I downloaded the ICC profile from your site. I do not see any indication if/when you might have updated the profile. Can you tell me when it was last updated?

Nothing has changed about the Juniper Baryta, and the ICC profile has no influence on how the printer handles the paper, that is determined by the media setting. I would recommend a setting change in the Pro-1000 print settings: under the 'Paper Detailed Settings' menu set 'Print Head Height' to Avoid Paper Abrasion. This should prevent the head strikes you are seeing on the leading edge.

I am having the same issue with Juniper Rag in my Canon Pro 1000. My question is: when you increase the printhead clearance, I am assuming there is a compromise in accuracy or sharpness. Is it measureable or noticeable?

I have not seen a reduction in quality or sharpness when selecting 'Avoid Paper Abrasion' in print settings.
