Moab Support Forum > Print Output Settings
Detail settings in the print driver are generally determined by personal preference. Some printmakers use only the highest setting, 2880dpi on an Epson printer. Others claim that even under magnification there is no improvement from 1440dpi to 2880dpi. All of our ICC profiles are created using the default settings for the recommended media type, to reduce confusion and make the print process as straight forward as possible. Perceived detail in the print is also greatly influenced by the subject of the photograph or artwork: is it a finely detailed still life, or a much softer image of fog over a river? We recommend creating a few test prints of your work to see how changing the print settings influences the final output. Otherwise, stick with the default settings for the media type.
Moab Paper Support
Of course, but for instance - after seeing print after print on Hahnemuhle Photo Rag Pearl come out way too dark, i went back and read the information provided with the profile, which stated to not use a print output setting of more than 1440. It made a huge difference. Now, a lot of printers are wired to think it does make a big difference. Moab should state their opinion on the matter in documentation somewhere... not in an unofficial forum.

Our profiles are created based on the default settings for the specific media setting. For Entrada on the P5000, the Ultra Premium Presentation Matte media setting will select 1440dpi, high speed and super microweave on as the settings. These are the settings used to create the profile, and by extension are our recommended settings when printing. Always start your tests with these 'default' settings and experiment as necessary after initial test prints.
Legion Paper

I see that unlike many other paper manufacturers, Moab does not give specifics on print output settings. I use an Epson SC P5000 printer, and am printing a portfolio of images on Moab Estrada Natural 300 paper. My setting has been left at SuperPhoto 1440, with Super "MicroWeave" on, and "Finest Detail" off.
Are these settings irrelevant? If so, Moab should state this in a data pdf that should download with a given profile.
