Moab Support Forum > Lasal DS Matte on Epson 3800--Feed Problems
Michael,
You're on the right track to clean the large feed wheel in your printer. I suggest using a few drops of eyeglass cleaner or lens cleaner on a microfiber cloth and wiping the roller side to side. (don't use windex or other cleaning products) You can also check your sheet feeder to see if there is visible dust or paper lint, and remove it with a damp cloth or blower brush. With all cotton rag and matte papers, there is a small amount of paper lint that will be left behind when the sheet is fed, and over time it will build up to cause the feed issues you are experiencing. If you are printing larger sheets, or just one or two prints, you can also use the rear manual feed instead of the sheet feeder.

Just what I was looking for! And thanks for the quick reply.
Lens cleaner, eh? Well that's one I never would have thought of. I'll give it a try with my next batch of prints.

P.S. For what it's worth, the particular reason I like the Lasal Matte so much, aside from its finish and low cost, is that it doesn't scuff and leave white marks the way its Epson equivalent does.

Hello,
I love the Lasal double-sided matte paper, but I have a terrible time getting it to feed consistently in my Epson 3800.
Glossy papers run through just fine, and if I clean the big grabbing roller the printer will behave with the Lasal for a few prints. But after that, it's back to one sheet at a time.
It almost seems like something in the paper's surface gets on the roller to keep it from grabbing.
So, is there an elegant, simple solution that I'm missing?
Thanks,
MB
