Hi, I'm an Australian who sells mounted prints in the USA. I take them in my baggage, approx 100 at a time, and mount them on backing board and surround them with matboard. (I print A4 and A3+ on Moab lasal Exhibition Luster 300). I have sold over 500 this way through clients such as museums in the past couple of years. Delivered mounted and in show bags.
I now have an opportunity to print here in Australia, as I now do, and post rather than carry prints to the USA.

So my question is - I can print and roll them and post in a tube. 60mm diameter. 450mm long. Thus being able to sell individual limited edition prints. My concern is in the rolling of the Moab lasal Exhibition Luster 300. Can this paper be rolled that tight and what are the consequences, if any, of rolling and posting this way. Any advice would be appreciated.

You should be just fine rolling prints on Exhibition Luster into your 60mm tubes, the paper is flexible enough to accommodate that diameter. To prevent creasing while rolling the print, you may want to try rolling it around a smaller tube, then packing in your mailing tubes. The other factor you'll want to test is how long it takes the print to flatten out when you remove it from the tube, and if you need a method to remove the curl. I would test a couple sheets of paper in a tube for the expected shipping duration, then see about making them flat again.

Thanks. FYI. I rolled an A3+ and inserted into a 2.5" tube. Left in there for 3 weeks. After 3 weeks I removed it and placed it on a flat surface. No weights. It took 24 hours for it flatten out most of the curve. Another 24 hours to return to 'almost' flat. There remains a small turn up still on the tightest/inside edge. Nothing that won't come out once mounted. I live in a very hot, high humidity location, (average 90f and 90% humidity), so that may have some influence.

So it seems rolling a print and posting it overseas doesn't seem to be a long term issue.
