Moab Support Forum > Canon Pro-10 & Anasazi Canvas

I print in a fully color managed process on Windows 10 using Photoshop CS6 and a Canon Pro-10 printer. I am using the Moab Anasazi Canvas 13" x 19" cut sheets. I have downloaded and installed the latest ICC profile and am using the suggested Matte Photo Paper media setting in the driver.

My first print looked great and I thought I was all set. On another image the result was not as expected. There seems to be an exaggerated color shift in the red area (way too intense) that does not show up when checking for out-of-gamut color. Same result for colors in the orange area.

I have reviewed all of your online material for printing in CS6 and see no answers to my issue.

I have produced hundreds of successful prints using Canon media without an issue like this. Any thoughts or insights would be most welcome.

Thanks.

Kevin,
Sorry you're experiencing difficulties. If you soft-proof the image in Photoshop using the print profile, do you see the same color shifts as the printed images? Also, did you use the same rendering intent for all prints?

I do not see the same color shifts when soft-proofing in Photoshop CS6. And, yes, I am using the same Relative rendering intent for both soft-proofing and printing.

At this point, I seem to be back to adjusting color as if not in a calibrated monitor/color managed system, which of course, is not a very long term workable situation.

If the soft proof is accurate, then the issue lies in the print settings, not with the ICC profile. It sounds like your printer color settings may have changed between the prints- with the first (accurate) print the ICC was applied and the printer color settings were disabled. On the second print (that was inaccurate) the ICC was applied but also the printer color settings were enabled, which causes extreme and unpredictable color shifts.

I believe the printer color settings are the same between prints as I have been very careful to make sure of this. Printer color management was turned off in all of the cases I have printed with this media, allowing Photoshop to manage color, using the Moab ICC Profile, selecting the recommended Matte Photo Paper media type and selecting the Relative rendering intent. Perhaps another media will be my best solution. Thanks for responding.

By the way, I have now printed a total of 8 different images with three of those requiring color adjustments to get close to what I am seeing in the soft-proof.
