Moab Support Forum > Entrada Rag Bright ICC profile for epson p800 is off

I am using Entrada Rag Bright 300 17" roll (just purchased from B&H) with a new Epson P800 - correct profile selected in Photoshop CC and Watercolor Radiant White as the media.
The results are significantly green in the middle and light middle tones. Using an Apple cinema display, calibrated with a Color Munki to D50, and matching Solux lighting for print to screen comparison. Epson Cold Press Bright renders perfectly correct while the Entrada is way off.
Any suggestions before I attempt to create my own profile?

I love this paper and had great results on my 3800 with the 190 gm and 300 sheet stock and 3800 profiles. I really want this to work.

Barry, if you are using our profile in conjunction with our recommended media type, and it sounds like you are, it could be a different issue. My recommendation would be to print something that wasn't generated or created in your environment as a neutral test. Download and print the OnSight Color Evaluation Image, found at this link:

There are some great tests on the printed page. Some are objective and some are subjective. Take it for a spin and let us know how the print looks and if you are seeing similar output.

Thank you for your suggestion. I had already printed a PDI test target, which also showed the tendency to drift towards green from the light middle tones downwards. This morning I generated my own profile with the X-Rite Color Munki Photo, and was delighted to find that the color was spot-on. The Entrada print matched the Epson print and both were faithful renditions of the on screen image. So, I guess it's back in your court. When I have time, I'll run samples with the on-sight target on Epson papers with their profiles and the Entrada with your profile and mine to see if the grey scales reveal anything that might enlighten us.

I've printed the on-sight test target on Entrada Rag Bright with your profile and mine, and on Epson Cold Press Bright with Epson's profile. My profile on Entrada and Epson's profile on their paper both match the screen image, but your profile is clearly green. I have a photograph of the three test prints and screen image in match-print lighting that shows these results. Let me know how to share that with you.

From this test it seems that the profile you are providing for Entrada Rag Bright with the Epson P800 printer does not produce correct results.

Barry, we will revisit our profile and see what we can make of it.

Thanks for following up - I'll be interested to know what you find.

We have been testing and printing and testing some more, and our own P800 and the profiles we have created are dead on. We are interested in finding out why our P800 may be printing differently from others, so we have sourced another P800 and will test and make profiles from that printer and come up with a solution. The solution may be that we just replace our profile(s) with profiles from the newer device.

Stay tuned....

I just bought the P 800 after my 3800 died. I tested several images on 4 different inkjet papers. Your icc profile for the Entrada Bright White gave me prints that were way off. The other manufacturers were very close in tonal quality. I have used Entrada Bright White for over 7 years with the Epson 3800 and got excellent results. Today gave me a great surprise/

We are in the process of re-creating all our P800 profiles, as it was discovered that the source printer was out of spec, and as a result our profiles are not accurate on a majority of P800 printers. We will have these up asap and I will post to this forum when they are available.

Thanks for your patience.

Can you describe the variance in the printers you discovered? And a way to discern the culprit? Lastly - will the new profiles be named with a version number so they aren't confused with an old set....

CK-
We became aware of the issue when a number of customers reported the same color shift when printing with the old profiles, and we were able to verify the issue on another P800.
