Moab Support Forum > Questions about Entrada...

Hello! I have a dumb question. I've been using Entrada paper from day one on my Epson 7600 printer. I love this paper. I have found that using the Moab profile for this paper does not look right (very red & lighter). I use the RW-PK profile and i get better results. BUT i get a slight cyan/blue cast in the lighter areas when I print B&W (using grayscale or RGB). My digital tech and I tried to figure it out today and could not. We have NO idea why this happens. Is it the printer? paper? profile?

Just curious to see if you have any suggestions or advice on where to look and what to try. Would appreciate any thoughts you have.

Thank you!!

:-)

PS. talking about 300g Bright White.

Richard, you will definitely need to use the Matte Black for the printing of all matte papers, and our profile that you mentioned doesn't sound like the one we have online on this site. We recommend downloading our profile, and make sure you are using our recommended media type when printing, as the ICC profile and media type settings work together and are essential for proper color management.

The media type is Watercolor Radiant White

Thanks! More thoughts... the profile i use is a basic profile that comes with the printer. How will the matte black effect my prints when I use it on Lasal? I print both papers a lot.

ALSO I've used your profile, made sure the media type is correct and still get a red-ish, light print. My digital tech and I are confused. Makes no sense cuz I use your profiles for every other paper and get perfect results.

Is there a setting in photoshop I'm missing?

Richard, our ICC profile is a separate download than those that come with the printer. Are you sure you are using our ICC profile or are you using an Epson one? ICC profiles are different than the Media Type listing in the printer driver.

Just for clarity:

Use our ICC profile (in the printing application)
Use our recommended media type (in the printer driver)
dpi doesn't matter as far as color is concerned
You can use either Perceptual or Relative rendering intent in your printing application (to taste)
