Moab Support Forum > Connection to Printer Gone

I just setup my Epson Stylus Photo R1800 is use Entrada Rag Bright - following the directions to install the ICC profile per the tutorial. For some reason my PC does not communicate with my printer anymore. Any ideas re what I've done wrong? The only thing I've done that I think would have an effect has been to now tell the printer that PS will now manage colors, which I had not done in the past. I've checked connections to see if that is the problem - nope.

I use Windows 8 and PS CC.

My apologies for the inconvenience. I have never known the installation and use of a color profile to effect printer connectivity. I would suggest reinstalling the printer driver from the Epson web site. If that doesn't work, a call to Epson support should resolve things.

Hello DB:
I've been printing on Epson large format printers for the past 7 years. I use both Mac and Window [8 & 7]. I can tell you neither "letting Photoshop control color" or "installing a profile" will do anything to your connection. With that written, I will tell you the Adobe print interface has become more difficult with each release [particularly the Mac version]. I still use an old copy of PS CS2 for all my printing.
No, I know this post didn't help. I just didn't want you to think PS color control or new profiles would negatively effect your printing. Just the opposite is true. Good luck.
