Moab Support Forum > Can't see Premium Luster media type on Epson 7800

I'm having trouble locating the Premium Luster media setting on my 7800 using the Colorado Fiber Satine. I see the Fine Art papers, Matte papers and 'other' selections, but nothing for luster, gloss or semigloss default media.

There are, unfortunately, frequent issues with communication between the Epson printer driver and the x800 series of printers. What happens is when the matte black ink is swapped for a photo black inset, the printer driver doesn’t quickly recognize the change. Since the media types you are looking for (luster, semi gloss, gloss, etc) are only going to show up when you have the photo black ink installed, are you perhaps still using the Matte Black ink in the printer? If you have switched to the photo black inkset, I have found that you have to reboot both the computer and printer to make the printer driver see the change. And once the photo black inset is ‘seen’ then the listing of media types that use that inkset will actually show up.
