"All my portfolios are printed on Entrada. It's necessary that each print stands alone as a piece of art, and it's because of Entrada's weight and feel that my portfolio stands out from the rest."
Allan,
Sorry for the confusion. Our profile download page for the 8400 also lists photo paper plus semigloss as the preferred setting, so Canon must have updated their drivers since then. I don't currently have access to that printer, but to start I would suggest a semigloss or luster paper setting available within the printer, as I'm not sure what the exact options are. I will check on custom media types and get back to you.
Evan
I tried printing with the 280 gsm media type and the heavyweight photo paper media type available on the IPF8400 and I was not satisfied with the results. Since this printer series can be programmed with exact media types, MOAB should come up with files for their papers. For example, I use Lexjet Sunset eSatin and Lexjet Sunset Metallic for many of my projects. All Lexjet papers have custom media types to work with the 8400 and the results are fantastic. I am using the Canon print plugin.
Please let me know when the custom media type will be available for my printer. Thank you.
I've been printing fine art print portfolios on the Lasal Dual Semigloss 330 11X14 paper using my Canon IPF6100 using the photo paper plus semigloss setting for the media type. I just got the new IPF8400 and this media type is not available. Since this printer can install custom media types, will Moab create one for this paper? Until then, what setting should I use? Thank you.
