Moab Support Forum > Color Management when Printing from InDesign CS5.

Hi, I'm using MOAB Entrada Rag Natural 190 duo (two sided paper) for a custom artist photography book. I've tested the paper printing from Aperture and Photoshop and have had no problems. When I print from within InDesign CS5, I get a very saturated red tone that I do not see in the other prints.

The way I have setup the process is:
-I use Adobe RGB as the color setting on InDesign, with a perceptual Rendering Intent and Black Point Compensation (the same way I print well from photoshop and Aperture).

-Then I place the images in the file preserving the images color profile (also Adobe RGB) and using the Perceptual Rendering Intent.

Does anyone out there have any suggestions or experience printing directly from within InDesign? I've worked extensively in the design and layout of this book with a designer, and that's what I cannot simply close Indesign and print from Aperture or Photoshop.

Thanks so much in advance. Martin.

Martin, it sounds like some sort of color management may be applied in both your printing application as well as in the printer driver. You will want to make sure that only one is handling the output color management, as double profiling can end up creating very whacky results.

Another idea is to quickly save your document in InDesign as a PDF, and open the document in Photoshop for printing. This way you can help isolate the issue.

Thanks so much for the suggestion. That seems to have done the trick. Not sure why since I made sure I'm using the same settings in both cases, and I would assume the color engine in all Adobe products it's the same. Yet, colors worked well in the PDF approach and not directly from InDesign. Thanks. m.
