Moab Support Forum > Spray finish/varnish for lab photos printed with chemical emulsion

Hi,
I'm looking for a spray varnish/sealant for photos printed by a professional lab using chemicals. NOT inkjet. I've exhausted Google trying to find this info and have yet to get a straight answer. Could you please recommend a product? Do I need water based or solvent based? Something else? (The photos are mounted on wood, no frame - I'm looking for a safe way to seal them and protect the print for a lifetime. 'Archival' if you will, though I get it's not the true definition of archival because I don't want the print to be removable from the wood!)
Thanks so much!

Maren, we anticipate similar results with chemical prints as well as inkjet prints with a product like our Moab Desert Varnish, but we don't have any specific tests to confirm our suspicions. Our Desert Varnish spray was created to accomplish three goals: protect against UV light, protect against fingerprints and protect against small scratches. So take a look at our Desert Varnish spray and give it a go. We would love to hear back with your impressions.
