Michael, we choose media types that yield the best results across the board. Often media types may look great for shadows but they don't put enough ink down onto the paper for the largest color gamut. It is a fine line between many of the options, that's for sure. If you use our ICC profile and use a different media type, that doesn't automatically mean that the media type is a good choice, because you have to both use that media type when profiling as well as use it when using the ICC profile.
