Moab Support Forum > How many prints on a roll.

I recently acquired an Epson 7600 printer. I'd like to start using Entrada Rag Natural 290 in 24 x 40 foot rolls. Using a custom print size of 24 x 32 I calculate I can get exactly 15 prints out of the roll. Is it unrealistic to actually utilize every available inch on the roll, anyone have experience with that? Thanks for any insight. Mike

Mike-
In my experience, the printer will always use more paper than the print size. This is especially true if you are printing borderless, as it will print beyond the margin, then roll the paper back a bit to trim it to the proper size, and cut the excess off the roll. Usually this was 1" to 3" per print. If you are printing an image which is smaller than your paper size, it is possible that you would be able to get 15 prints, but I wouldn't expect it. Most likely you can plan for a 16" x 24" print for the end of every roll.
