Moab Support Forum > Fine Film when printing

So, I am printing on my Canon Pixma Pro-10 with Lasal Matte 235 and there is a fine "film" over the whole image so that my blacks are not true blacks and are not lustrous. I've installed the print profiles and changed everything appropriately. The printer even recognizes that this is happening because when I click on the Match Print Colors dialogue box it happens on screen as well. Any thoughts?

Meredith, all matte papers will have a somewhat less 'punchy' look to them when compared to any glossy type paper (gloss, luster, satin, pearl, etc). Is this your first attempt with a matte type paper?

Hi!

This is not my first time printing on matte paper, my entire portfolio is printed on it. the problem is that even though the image has true blacks when i print the blacks come out at like 85% black, and the colors are flat/dull/not as bright as they should be.

Meredith, I will take a look at the profile when I get back into the office tomorrow. Let's see if we can find out what is going on.

Check to see that you are printing the right side of the paper. I know, it sounds silly. I've done this a few times with Epson Enhanced Matte, and it has me scratching my head until I realize I've got the wrong side up.
