Moab Support Forum > Somerst Museum Rag's inconsistencies
Hi Sue, thanks for your post. From time-to-time we need to tweak our profiles and recreate them. It seems now is such a time for us to redo the Somerset Museum Rag profiles. We'll begin developing new profiles in the coming weeks. When they are completed we will post a comment to this thread.

Is there any chance the paper was coated on the wrong side and so I'm printing on the wrong side. I'll test it if you think its a possibility.

For roll products this is highly unlikely, however it might be worth a try just to troubleshoot. Please give this a try and let us know.

I'll try it

I tried printing on the back of the roll and it looked worse.
Jon sent me two sheets of letter size paper to test and they look good.
Wondering what the lot number is on the small paper.
Sue

I just talked to another artist who had the same problem with the somerset museum rag.
Wondering what you guys have found out about the paper and why the blacks are no longer the equivalent to lot #1233.
I don't want to give up on this paper but I feel like I have to.

Hi Sue, we're going to re-profile this paper. Please tell me what printer you are using so we can get your profile produced right away.

Epson 9900. Thank you

I started printing with Somerset Museum Rag recently because of the quality of the blacks in the print, my images are made from scanned leaves and they have a lot of solid black in the background. The first roll I bought, lot number 1233 was beautiful, the second roll lot number 1304 couldn't give me the same black and contrast. I called customer service and they sent me another roll to test Lot # 1314 and it was as bad as the previous roll. The change happened when I switched rolls during a printing session. The new roll was the only variable. I'm ready to explore different papers again. A bit disappointed since this paper was so beautiful. And wondering why the quality control on such an expensive paper is so inconsistent.
