Moab Support Forum > paper types -- where is this detail?

greetings... been looking at the site on and off for a few days... have new printer and samplepac of moab paper... i am generally, frustrated in that i cannot find any refrence to how the print settings should be set in relation to each paper - i called and got guidance for mk /pk ink selection - now i am not finding paper select settings - no idea if i am to be usinf paper glossy for lasal photo gloss for example - and not too keen on burning thru the pack blindly ...

please someone point me to specific print details that are complete for each of the 20 papers in the pack... i am very frustrated at this point... have 4 major brands of paper in testing - this is the most difficult and am about read to line the bird cage with this set of papers and simply give up which would be a shame as these do look to be nice papers...

many NOOBS... like myself i am sure buy these samplers - and thers is no documentaion - not so good...

P.I in minneapolis (vent) feel betternow..

many thanks for any pointers - usinf epsons 4900.

P.I.-

We are definitely here to help. Ok, as far as the biggest piece of information you will need for best results is our recommended media type. Our media type recommendations are found right underneath each ICC profile link on this web site. When it comes to the quality settings in the printer driver, you should just use the default for whatever media type you are using. For example, most of our papers will use media types that call for 1440dpi. In all of our testing we have never seen a reason to recommend the 2880dpi quality setting, as we cannot see any difference at all in the final print.

Part of the confusion is from the profiles page you have to scroll down a bit to get to the next link. With that in mind--and assuming you read the info on how to load the profile onto your computer--the web page links to follow are:

Profiles page to
Epson printers, to
Your specific printer, where you'll find all the paper profiles listed along with the media settings. At least with my 3880 by selecting the media type, the printer then determines which feed location I can use.
