Moab Support Forum > Epson R300 and Chinle 8x9 paper
Hi Jon, We learned that the Hot Press media type was not available to all users, so we now recommend using the Watercolor Radiant White media type. Do you see that option available to you? You will still need to feed through the front loader. Marc

I do have Hot Press Natural available when front loading paper. But when I load the Chinle 9x8 paper in the front loader, the R3000 thinks there's not paper loaded and throws an error. I can only assume that the 9x8 paper is too short to trip some paper detection mechanism in the printer.
My client has decided to go with 8x10's instead so this is no longer a pressing issue. But since I have a Chinle album and a partially used box of Chinle punched paper, I'd like to figure how best to print on it sooner or later.

We've been speaking to a number of people (both professional photographers and Epson tech people) trying to find out why the printer will not allow all the fine art paper choices when printing with the 8x9 sheet size, but the answers have not been satisfactory. We haven't given up, so bear with us for a little bit longer.
As a work-around, I would suggest using the 8x10 paper size setting, but position your image only within a bottom 8x8 window (to mimic the Chinle paper printing area) -leaving the extra 2 inches as unused. The printer won't know the difference. Let us know if this works for you.

I'm getting excellent results with Entrada Natural 300 on the Epson R3000, Hot Press Natural. But now that I'm printing the smaller Chinle 8x9 paper, it will not front load on the R3000 and the "art" paper settings are not available. All I have are:
Photo Paper
Exhibition Fiber Paper
Matte Paper
Ultra Premium Presentation Matte
Premium Presentation Paper Matte
Presentation Paper Matte
Double-Sided Matte Paper
I tried Ultra Premium Presentation Matte and there is a definite color shift.
Before I waste paper experimenting, can you suggest a paper setting that will work or a way to trick the printer into using Hot Press Natural when top loading?
Thanks...
Jon Revere
