Moab Support Forum > Anasazi Canvas
Hi Kathleen, I apologize for the belated reply - for some reason my original post has disappeared. The correct side to print on the canvas is the white, primed side. It sounds like our labels are incorrect and we will look into this. As for your second question, all the Moab papers are coated to achieve the best printing results on inkjet printers, however you could always flip the canvas over and print on the uncoated side. As you can imagine, the image results will be rather poor. Marc

Thanks Kathleen.
I thought it was just me. I tried to print some Anasazi Canvas and gave up in disgust and disappointment. And to think all I had to do was ignore the instructions and flip the paper over! I may rethink printing on canvas after seeing the results of one printed on the proper side.

Hi there, love your paper, but your QC needs attention. I also had disappointment and frustration trying to print on the wrong side which was marked "Printable This Side" incorrectly. I wasted two 13x19 sheets, corresponding ink, but mostly HOURS trying to reconfigure profiles, trouble-shoot and clean the printer, reset Photoshop setup, etc. I finally decided to flip the paper on my own and it was great. Then went to your website and found not only the bright side is correct, but you found this issue back on March 4, over 6 months ago. I bought my paper just last week, so your labeling is still not corrected. I'm sure I'll be very happy with the output now, but please save other people this frustration.

I may be fairly foolish... but I purchased a box of the 13 x 19 canvas back in December and have gone through half of my stock printing on the side labeled "Print this side".. my results were dull and unusable. I finally figured it out, but now I have to invest in another box. I'm not looking for anything... just wanted to let you know that this has happened to A LOT of people clearly.

I have also wasted a number of Anasazi pages until I guessed that the label was wrong... and searched and found this page... but I have had this issue with a box of Sllickrock and lasal as well. It's painful wasting those 11x17 pages and the ink. It seems you do have a QC issue with the print on this side sticker...
Also, some of the Slickrock was missing it's coating on a few sheets. It appeared if something was pulled across it before the coating dried?

Hi Daniel,
We've taken additional steps to ensure the 'Print this Side' label is attached to the front of the bag and not the flap. In the past we used the 'Print this Side' sticker as a flap sealer, but when the package was opened the sticker remained on the flap, so when the flap is pulled open the label indicated the incorrect print side.
In regards to the Slickrock coating issue, can you please email me your contact details to marc@legionpaper.com? I would like to see some samples and obtain a lot# from you.
Thank you,
Marc

Just want to add for your reference that the printable side sticker is still on the wrong side. For my box, it isn't used as a flap sealer, but is below the flap and the side facing out is the uncoated canvas. This is the info on the box:
G03-ACP350851120
99999 1028
Perhaps it's an old box.

That reminds me... I sent them samples and emailed a couple of times about the quality issues with the coatings as well as obvious packaging issues with no response. I have maybe 12-15 boxes of their paper and waited so long for hopefully a replacement for the coating issues that the ink dried up in my printers print head and I haven't been able to clear it!

What is the "media type" setting in Photoshop? I would like to print a full 13x19 but so far Photoshop will not let me. They insist on a large margin.

Steve, it depends on which printer you are using. You can always find our recommended media type right next to each ICC profile download link on this web site.

Hello: I have 8.5 x 11 Anasazi Canvas samples that say to print on the fabric canvas side rather than the white primed side.
Is this a mistake? Which side is correct?
As well, my students would like to find a canvas to print on that feeds through the printers that is fabric - without the gessoed & digitally primed surface. It could be coated on the back side to help feed the fabric through the printer.
Does Moab have any media like that?
Thank you. Kathleen Graves
