I have been using Desert Varnish for a few years and my regular dealer says it cannot be imported into Canada anymore due to customs regulations. Is this true? Will it be available in the future?

Also yesterday there was a water based gel version listed on the website that could be used with HVLP sprayers... now it's not there. Is it no longer available? Did/Does it work with HVLP sprayers?

If the Desert Varnish is no longer available do you have an alternative you recommend for Moab Lasal Matte.

Andrew, we did discontinue our Desert Gel product recently, and that explains why you don't see it any longer. I am not sure about the ability to get our Desert Varnish into Canada, though, as it is not a hazardous material. It does have to be shipped via ground and not air, due to rules and regulations for spray cans, though.

Will there be another product introduced to replace the Gel?

I'm in Calgary and now there are no stores that carry this product or who can/will get it for me. Vistek, the biggest dealer in Canada, were the ones who said they cannot get it across the border.

We don't anticipate a replacement product for Desert Gel, unfortunately. If you purchase Desert Varnish off of our web site, I believe delivery can be accomplished via a ground service, such as UPS Ground.
